These Himalayan yak wool fur style scarfs measure approx 1 ft x 5 ft, with small tassles or fringes on ends.

The color scheme combination and the soft lightweight, Reversible, Double Sided feel of the wool make these scarfs quite unique.

Each piece is handmade and personally selected in Kathmandu Valley Nepal, along the ancient silk trading route where India and Tibet meet to form the Himalaya Mountains.

The pure organic yak wool is processed along the Tibetan plateau in the pristine, high elevation, beautiful environment of the Everest and Langtang Himalaya regions, in the most eco-friendly and sustainable way.

In terms of production, yak wool is generally small-scale and less reliant on fossil-fuel processes. A downy undercoat fiber that is just as warm as cashmere, and far more sustainable to manufacture.

The wool is transported by horseback out of the mountains and into the Kathmandu Valley. The blankets are made at an all-women’s run handicrafts cooperative. This is the true meaning of slow fashion and ethical gifting.

Perfect for travel or everyday use, they are durable and have been known to last and withstand the harsh climates of the worlds tallest mountains. I can personally say I still own the same one I bought more than 20 years ago
